The character was originally performed by Caroll Spinney from the show's first episode until Spinney's retirement in 2018. Although the term "Grouch" aptly describes Oscar's misanthropic interaction with the other characters, it also refers to his species.
Oscar's favorite thing is trash, as evidenced by the song " I Love Trash", with a running theme being his collection of seemingly useless items. He has a green body, no visible nose, and lives in a trash can. This item works completely the same as all other no-lid trash cans in game. One of those objects was a trash can, but as I don't like to have a normal "modern" trash can on my Jungle lot, the idea for the Broken Jar - Trash Can was born! As I always built everything as a residential lot because of all the effects I use that need testing, I had to change it to a National Park venue, meaning I had to add required objects. The "winning lot" is my Jungle Ruins lot, which I built and used for multiple mod showcase videos.
